TERRATREAD IS BUILT TO LAST

When Metroparks Toledo was looking for a durable concrete boardwalk system, we found what we needed right in our own backyard. TerraTread has engineered a very competitively-priced, maintenance-free system suitable for pedestrian bridges, multi-use paths, wetland boardwalks and overlooks.

TerraTread utilizes premium pre-cast materials to provide a superior and longer lasting alternative to traditional timber framed boardwalks. The system exceeds design requirements for H-5 vehicles and may be installed in conjunction with a variety of foundation options, including helical pile. The ability to install the boardwalk through Top-Down Construction has proven to be a game changer for projects where traditional construction methods are either cost prohibitive, environmentally challenging, or nearly impossible, such as through marshes and other wetlands. As design engineers, TerraTread is easy to specify and reduces resources required by the A/E team during the design phases, all the while providing the client with their desired result.

Mark Haynes Construction has worked with the Terra Tread product on multiple projects and had great success with it. We have recommended this product to owner’s for various reasons including ease of installation, cost, availability, and customer support. We feel confident with TerraTread, and hope to continue using the quality product on upcoming projects.

Salenbien Excavating installed the Terra Tread precast system using helical anchors across a large pond in a local Metropark. This “top down” building system was far superior to trying to float a crane on a barge in order to drive wood piles. Instead, the additional strength of the precast (over a wood deck) allowed us to place a small excavator to drill the helicals, switch the excavator attachments and then place the precast components. I would recommend this system to any others interested in crossing an area with saturated soils, rough conditions, etc.
