Laguna treatment hospital is an excellent place to detox from drugs and or alcohol and to participate in groups as part of their rehabilitation program.
The nursing staff is caring and provide top quality care. The group facilitators are well trained and most are in recovery themselves.
Client see a therapist, psychiatrist, and a medical doctor if needed. I recommend Laguna treatment hospital to anyone, seeking to find relief from the suffering of addiction.

I will start on a good note. I loved the people at the facility. I got a lot out of the program.

I could not stand the cold rooms. My room was 60 degrees for 3 days before I could get someone to adjust the thermostat.

They falsely advertise that they have an executive chef, which is not correct. Just some Latinos serving food. The food is horrible! Over processed, too much sugar, and mystery meat. The ham they served was a step above Spam and too salty to eat.
The turkey was not turkey breast but pressed turkey pieces in a loaf with preservatives and too much salt.

Alcoholics tend to have high blood pressure and one night there were at least 2 of us with
BP so high that we in the stroking zone because the meal was so salty.

Laguna is an amazing facility with incredible people assisting in the recovery process. Gilbert is compassionate and very knowledgeable. He has gone out of his way to help me recognize my destructive tendencies and behaviors in a caring manner. Kendall is also amazing. She has really bonded with me and has provided so much insight. The nurses are phenomenal and the Cafe staff is always welcoming. Finally, the Ticket Store that Gilbert facilitates is a necessity. Everyone is excited to "shop" his store with earned tickets from the various staff members. Laguna has restored my inner hope. THANK YOU!!!

Just finishing up my treatment today after 30 days, so many wonderful people here I want to do a shout out to my teachers Kenny, Kendall, Richard, Gabriel, and Tony, they all have a different way of teaching, and they're all very knowledgeable and what they talk about can't say enough about them

Wow..... I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about this place. It felt more like a resort than a treatment center. After you're admitted, they give you a little welcome bag with Gatorade and candy like Red Vines and Snickers)

They also have a snack bar, that's yours for the taking displayed near the nurse's station for when you get settled upstairs, in your hotel like room. ..Chips, Oreos, Fig Newtons, bananas, apples, cheez-it's, handmade sandwiches, you name it!

While, the ENTiRE staff is beyond welcoming and friendly, I have to especially acknowledge a few EXTRA special humans that are now dear to my heart.

Andy (my therapist) who showed EXTREME enthusiasm about my past and what I was there to heal from. When I shared the stuff I had uncovered, she was as fascinated as I was! It was SO cool to have a therapist that was so into what I was going though)

Laquisha (my Dr../psych) who shared personal stories of hers with me, that related to mine. She made me feel related to, and it's just nice to connect to a doctor in that way. It creates a lot of trust.

Jules (Julia Hopps, - a T/A who's lovely presence brightens everyone's day by hanging out, chit chatting with us while she was on our watch during the breaks),

Ray (a security guard that kept bringing me water in the middle of the night when he heard me coughing every hour, because I ate too many of those darn yummy cookies that night :D)

Speaking of.... The cheerful chefs that served us delicious meals three times a day! It was always a variety and plethora of all the food groups. As a vegetarian, I had plenty to choose from and one of the cooks ALWAYS offered to make me a veggie patty. The veggies were good and the meat looked great.

Kyle (a night nurse that helped me out with some personal preferences to make sure I was as comfortable as possible one night.

Deborah (who I call "the FUN lady) brings in games for all of us 5 nights a week. Stuff like Trivia, Pictionary, Scattegories, and "Laguna's Got Talent" in which she brings all these fun costume props so the judges can create their own persona, as they announce their scores. And yes, the performers are patients. Everyone else is the audience, it just depends on what role you want. (I had a BLAST being a judge as "Lady Gaga")

Ken, my case worker and teacher is now one of my most FAVORITE people on the planet. What a character who just tells it like it is. I told him I'm going to get a 'WWKD' (what would Ken do) tattoo on my arm. And ya know what? I just might!, as a constant reminder of who I want to be :D

Adrian, another case worker and teacher who's comedic approach make classes hilarious AND educational at the same time!

Lastly, but most importantly JEAN, who appropriately is nicknamed "MAMA BEAR"
I had a bad night one night and I was scared. She took me under her wing, listened to me, calmed me down, and got me everything I needed to make me feel safe so I could fall asleep peacefully.. That woman is a saint.

I'm here for another day and I jokingly say that I don't want to leave.
(But, it's not really a joke.)
I've never LEARNED so much, had SO much fun AND felt so cared for in my life. THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME WHEN YOU JUST NEED A RECHARGE FROM LIFE. TO FOCUS ON YOU. BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT! Much love - Jules (from our team called "Jules squared" whenever we were both in the same areas)

( Thank you for everything. I am ever so grateful for this time that I spent here to focus on ME. I am going back into my life with a lot more clarity and be a better person for myself and those around me.)

Absolute worst place I have ever seen or been to. If I could give them zero stars I would. The case manager Austin ignored my texts for four days and I was supposed to be his client. It was an absolute joke and I would never waste my time going there. V was amazing as my therapist but the TA were power tripping jerks who spoke to clients with zero respect. Then when I was trying to transfer to another facility I was ignored and had to arrange my own paperwork and transfer paperwork. They used staling tactics in and attempt to keep me there. Also the building itself it SO NASTY! The walls and ventilation were infested with MOLD AND BIRD POOP!! They do not maintenance the building but rather band aide after band aide. UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING IN A MOLD RIDDEN psych ward I would HIGHLY NEVER SENDING ANYONE HERE.

I highly recommend Laguna Treatment Center. The nursing staff, the admin staff, the case managers, the therapist are all exceedingly, patient, compassionate, composed, professional, dedicated each, and everyone of them go above and beyond. even the CEO is involved you see him walking around and having lunch in the cafeteria. The cafeteria, the chefs are amazing. They put out really good food and cater to every dietary need, thank you Steve for all the work you put in and all the other guys there in the kitchen. to the TA a big shout out to Paul and Gilbert and Oscar and all the others that make an amazing team. I so appreciate Kendall's groups as she provides important information regarding the disease of addiction and the recovery process. She also includes very practical tools that you will need outside of treatment. Such as going to meetings how to get a sponsor what a sponsor is the literature they have what happens in a meeting, the nursing staff are phenomenal. The doctors make detoxing very easy. You meet with them once a week they're always readily available as are all the other staff.
I cannot say enough about this treatment center. It's hard to even call it a treatment center. It's run more like a family yet. Very professional.

Thank you so much Laguna for saving so many lives, including mine. May you all continue to walk in peace
